Dubbed as the most powerful gaming console, the Xbox One X is being promoted as the ultimate 4K machine that can deliver crystal-clear 4K images when connected to a Full HD screen. However, not much has been known about the console's output when connected to a monitor with greater than 1080p resolution. Finally, an Xbox official confirmed that the Xbox One will get a native support for 1440p screens.

There have been a lot of talks prior to the expected release of Xbox One X this November, but one of the biggest concerns of gamers today is if the console will work nicely with a 1440p (2560x1440) gaming monitor. In a tweet, Xbox Group Program Manager Kevin Gamill said that the Xbox One X can deliver native 1440p graphics on supported monitors. However, as reported by The Verge, Gamill clarified later on that the 1440p support will not be up right away upon the Xbox One X launch, but the update will be "coming soon."

Not all console owners use a gaming monitor to play, although some prefer to use a monitor with 1440p resolution for a more stable frame rate. The issue lies with the game developers designing their future titles at a different resolution. According to Trusted Reviews, current PlayStation 4 Pro users complain about the images only being upscaled from 1080p resolution because the console has no native 1440p output. The good news for now is that the Xbox One X will not repeat the same issue.

The full potential of the Xbox One X can only be enjoyed by connecting the console to a 4K television set. Nevertheless, Microsoft still made sure that all users will have a smooth experience with any monitors, be it a 4K, 1440p, or Full HD screen.

The Xbox One X, first known as the Xbox Project Scorpio, is set to arrive in the U.S. market on Nov. 7. The last console version released by Microsoft was the Xbox One S.
