Every month, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners who have an account on Xbox Games with Gold, a monthly subscription, are able to download several games for free. For the month of October, two of the four offered games are sports titles.

As announced on Xbox Wire, Xbox One owners will be able to download "Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings," a title from indie studio Metalhead Software that originally launched in 2014 for the PlayStation 4. The game had garnered multiple awards, including several Game of the Year awards in the Sports category.

The second Xbox One title being offered is "The Escapists," a game from Team 17, also responsible for many of the "Worms" video games. The game is set in a prison facility, and the player must aid several characters to break out, combining stealth, strategy and real-time prison simulation.

Xbox 360 owners will be getting the off-road racing game "MX vs ATV Racing." The game introduced a unique system where the rider and vehicle can move independently, allowing a player to lean in a certain direction to pull tricks, make sudden turns and other maneuvers. The terrain is also notable for changing depending on the racers' actions.

Also offered for the Xbox 360 is "I Am Alive," a game that focuses on survival in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Players will need to focus on traversing the destroyed city, managing limited resources, and attempting to intimidate strangers to stay away in order to live long enough to find the main character's family.

Both Xbox 360 games are also available for Xbox One players thanks to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature. As is the standard for Xbox One with Gold, these titles will only be available for free for a limited time only and will be rotated with a brand new set of downloadable games come November.
