Another character will be featured in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" film, based on the recent post by director Bryan Singer. The filmmaker recently offered a glimpse of the film's production art via his Instagram account, which shows a winged man inside a cage inside an area that seems to be a circus. Several speculations claim that the winged figure could be the Angel, also known as Warren Worthington III.
The comics character was last seen in cinemas during the Brett Ratner-helmed "X-Men: The Last Stand" movie released in 2006. The character was portrayed by actor Ben Foster.
At the moment, Ben Foster is not reported to be in talks for reprising his role as the Angel, but actor Ben Hardy from the "EastEnders" has been rumored to be meeting with the film's executives regarding one of the major roles for the film. However, there are no reports yet about the character that Hardy will give life to. Is it possible that Hardy will sign up for the role of the Angel?
The Angel's return to the big screen actually makes sense, since the character has a deep history with Apocalypse.
The actor who will fill in the role of Angel will join the stellar cast for the final installment of Singer's "X-Men" trilogy, including James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, and Nicholas Hoult as The Beast. Other newcomers to the "X-Men" franchise are Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, as well as Lana Condor.
Several rumors also mentioned that Evan Peter's character Quicksilver will appear in the sequel, while A-list stars and "X-Men" actors Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry will appear as Wolverine and Storm, respectively, in cameo roles.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is expected to begin filming this month, while its worldwide release date is scheduled on May 27, 2016.
