UFC 2015 news: Did the UFC force Cung Le to fight despite being injured?

Cung Le may have retired but it seems that his colorful career had its share of setbacks that included being forced to fight despite an injury and admitting to something that wasn't really factual.

Le spoke to Nate Quarry on his Round X Round podcast (as transcribed by MMAfighting.com) and made a stunning revelation that, in all, accused UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertita of forcing him to fight on an injured foot.

Le was apparently nursing a badly beat foot after his 2012 bout with Patrick Cote at UFC 148. With Le still unable to get medical clearance before his fight against Rich Franklin, the Vietnamese-American talked with White and informed him that he had yet to get medical clearance.

Le had hoped he could get clearance at that time but it seems everything became futile since White had gone on to announce his fight with Franklin, despite the pending medical clearance.

After that, Le was caught in another issue. This time it had to do with elevated levels of human growth hormones (HGH) found at drug tests made after his match with Michael Bisping on Aug. 23, 2014 in Macau. 

Per Le, Dr. Don Catlin, an expert on performance enhancing drugs, suggested that his HGH levels were actually lower than the expected post-exercise reference range. Regardless of that result, White had reportedly told Le to just admit his guilt because it would be the easier route and that fans would forgive him.

All these were, of course, part of Le's past with the UFC. He officially announced his retirement earlier this year and even drew praise from Fertita as "one of the most exciting middleweights to step foot in the Octagon."

Right now, it remains to be seen if White and Fertita would air their piece on Le's claims, although it is likely that either or both are bound to make one soon.
