"Transformers 5" appears to be in good hands, at least in terms of its writers.

The people behind the upcoming movie have apparently gone all out to bring together a stable of writers who are capable of delivering the quality content people expect from such a big-name franchise.

According to Deadline, some of the writers expected to have a hand in formulating the story for the upcoming "Transformers" movies will be Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, Akiva Goldsman, Matt Holloway, Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum, Zak Penn, and Jeff Pinkner.

These writers are behind shows such as "The Walking Dead" and "Lost" and also films such as "I Am Legend" and "Iron Man." To this point, it's unclear just how this group will be handling "Transformers 5" and the sequels that will come thereafter, although they do make up the brain trust tasked with coming up with ideas for the franchise moving forward.

That group figures to have a lot of work ahead as there will be at least four more "Transformers" movies coming out, including the fifth one.

News that there would be at least four more "Transformers" movies came directly from Hasbro's Steven J. Davis, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The upcoming "Transformers" movies will apparently be released over a period of 10 years, although how they will be spaced out remains to be seen.

Aside from confirming plans to make more "Transformers" movies, Davis also named Michael Bay as one of the people involved in plotting out the direction of the franchise going forward.

It's worth noting that Bay has previously not committed to direct "Transformers 5," although Davis mentioning him is not confirmation of that either. At the very least, however, it would seem that Bay will have a say in what direction the movies will take as they move forward.

"Transformers 5" is still tentatively scheduled to be released in 2017.
