'Toy Story 4' plot: Fourth installment to be a love story?

These guys are back! Facebook

Everybody thought that the tales of friendship and adventure of the iconic toy characters in "Toy Story" ended when their owner, Andy, gave them up to a little girl named Bonnie. But news about its certain return says otherwise. Woody, Buzz and the whole crew will be back in the big screen in about two years, specifically 2017. While most think the installment is a veiled business operation, Director John Lasseter revealed in an interview with LA Times what it really is.

"A lot of people in the industry view us doing sequels as being for the business of it, but for us it's pure passion. We only make sequels when we have a story that's as good as or better than the original," Lasseter said.

Moreover, the fourth movie will pick up from the events of the last of the supposed trilogy. Lasseter also dished that the upcoming "Toy Story" film will be a toy love story. According to IBT Times, Pixar may be taking Woody and Bo Peep's friendship to the next level, citing the existing hints of romance between the two in the previous films. It may also be that Buzz Lightyear and Jessie will take to each other in "Toy Story 4". Cinema Blend's suggestion of a love triangle with another toy love interest may be considerable too.

Rashida Jones and Will McCormack will put the love story in writing. Lasseter is very happy about the writers' background in the field, and he deemed them to be the perfect individuals to pen the story of the celebrated franchise the way he imagines it. "They have such a great sense of character and originality, and I wanted to get a strong female voice in the writing of this," Lasseter told LA Times. With this statement, Cinema Blend echoes the fans' longing to have Jessie reunited with her original owner, Emily.

Lasseter will once more sit down on the director's chair. The Chief Creative Officer at Disney is very passionate about directing, and he even revealed how awe-inspiring it is to see and work with burgeoning talents and how 'it's very important to keep young talent coming into the studios to get back in and help tell stories'.

"Toy Story 4" is made even more explosive with some rumors swirling around. According to Rolling Stone, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will again lend their voices to Buzz Lightyear and Woody, respectively. In addition, the Avengers will make a cameo appearance in the film. Although fans should expect more of a subtle one where the Marvel heroes may be seen in toy form rather than a big pin-up scene.

"Toy Story 4" is still in the works and its zealous fans can see it officially by 2017.
