"Total War: Warhammer" has seen several big expansions and DLC content over the year since it launched, including free content. The game is going to get at least one more DLC, titled "Realm of the Wood Elves," and it has been confirmed to launch this coming December.

According to Eurogamer, the DLC is set to launch on Dec. 8. It will contain the new Wood Elves faction, which comes with their own Legendary Lords and units, as well as a single-player campaign titled "The Season of Revelation."

It is further revealed that the Wood Elves will be concerned with a new resource that players need to gather and wisely spend, known as Amber. Amber can be spent for research, but gathering enough Amber will allow the player to grow the Oak of Ages, a magical tree that will unlock several key scripted events in the campaign.

"Let's put it this way," explained lead designer Richard Aldridge. "We saw the reception to the 'Fall of Man' objective with the 'Beastman' and we certainly took that on board. It should be fun. And a challenge, obviously," he went on to say.

The new faction also plays differently depending on the Legendary Lord that the player opts to utilize. Using wood elf demigod Orion will allow the player to use the wood elf units. However, if the player uses Durthu, then they'll unlock the tree folk instead. Using a unit not associated with the Legendary Lord will cost Amber.

It has been previously reported that this might be the final DLC coming for the month of December as the Bretonna faction has been pushed back to early 2017. The Bretonnia faction will instead be launched alongside the "Total War: Warhammer Old World Edition." No Game of the Year Edition with all the DLC has been announced yet.

Creative Assembly will launch the "Realm of the Wood Elves" DLC this coming Dec. 8.
