There is no doubt that "Tom Clancy's The Division" is a great game; the numbers can prove it. However, cheating is rampant in the game and many players are complaining about it. Ubisoft, the game publisher and developer, has implemented new rules against cheaters
In order to provide a better gaming experience, Ubisoft implemented a new detection system for cheaters in the Dark Zone, which took effect before the month of April ended.
The company stated that they have already caught several players more, with the help of the new system, compared to the previous weeks. Thus, a large number of players were handed out suspension notices.
"The Division" team has also increased the penalty for the guilty ones. A three-day suspension was previously handed out, but this was increased to a 14-day suspension, for the first offense. Players who will be caught again will suffer a permanent ban from the game.
Ubisoft also mentioned that they are already upgrading their detection system since they are expecting players to find other ways to cheat.
With regards to bug exploits, the company mentioned that public forums and other channels of communication will be kept updated with confirmed issues. This is to ensure that everybody in the community will be informed of the issue and consequences if caught cheating.
The sanctions for players caught will depend on the level of abuse committed, as well as, the history of the player. The penalties include character rollbacks, account suspensions and permanent bans.
"Providing a high-quality experience is our priority. Fixing game bugs is one aspect of it, and we are improving our processes to address that. Dissuading players from impairing others' gameplay by violating the rules of the game is another aspect. We also want to give you better visibility and transparency. We are fully committed to providing an enjoyable and fair environment for all our players, and will take all steps necessary to achieve this goal," "The Division Team" said on its announcement," the annoucement said.
