The 2014 multiplayer first person shooter video game that was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts made the game compatible with almost every platform when it was released (the list includes the Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows) - but did not port the game out to Sony's next generation console, the PS4 or the PS3.
However, "Titanfall's" successor, "Titanfall 2," will not be disappointing PS4 console owners because it is expected that the upcoming title will not be an exclusive one. According to Gamespot, CFO of Electronic Arts Blake Jorgensen made the following statement during the 2015 Technology, Internet & Media Conference in San Francisco:
"Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us." Judging by the executive's statement, it can be speculated that "Titanfall 2" will be available for the PS4 platform.
There has been no official release date for the upcoming multiplayer first person shooter game, but Jorgensen did manage to mention that the game's developers will "probably have another Titanfall game."
While the online first person shooter was one of the hottest titles of 2014, that popularity slowly started waning thanks to titles like "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" and "Destiny," both of which were published by Activision.
After "Titanfall" was released on March 11 last year, it accumulated a record breaking tally of six E3 Critics Awards. Those were not the only accolades that "Titanfall' was able to garner because it also won official awards at Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show.
Fans will be excited to view a preview of the game at this year's E3 2015 event, but Electronic Arts have not yet detailed additional information.
