The Witcher 4 rumors: Geralt voice actor thinks the game should focus on Ciri

There's never been any official announcement of The Witcher 4 but that hasn't stopped fans - and even those involved in the game - from speculating about its existence and what they'd like to see.

While CD Projekt Red has denied there will be a fourth installment in the popular franchise, fans are certainly keen on one and it appears that even voice actor Doug Cockle, who plays Geralt of Rivia, can see some directions the game developer could take it to if they cave in to the fan pressure.

He thinks that if there ever is The Witcher 4, then one new direction CD Projekt Red could take it down is to focus on Ciri, the adopted daughter of Geralt.

That makes a lot of sense as there isn't much left for Geralt after The Witcher III: Wild Hunt so a new character to take the lead who is also connected to Geralt would make the perfect jumping off point for the plot continuation. There's also a clear path for it as Ciri was well received by fans of the game after being added as a playable character to The Witcher III.

Cockle admitted as well that there is not much scope left for Geralt now so as a future lead character, Ciri gets his vote. For fans who are sad to part with Geralt in The Witcher, they can catch more of him in the upcoming Soul Calibur VI, where he is a guest character.

Gamereactor asked him if Soul Calibur will be his last time voicing Geralt and this is what he had to say:

'I can only say I have no idea, although I think it will be. This is my own opinion, and CD Projekt Red knows what they are doing, and I have no idea what the plan is, but if I was CD Projekt Red, I would make The Witcher 4, but I would be focusing on Ciri.'

The stage certainly seems set for Ciri.  But the question is whether CD Projekt Red will do anything with it.
