"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," the upcoming open world action adventure role playing game currently being developed by CD Projekt Red, is expected to deliver a real challenge to those who have a penchant for a challenging gameplay.

"Dark difficulty is something that many people in the company are very passionate about," Philipp Weber, the quest designer of "The Witcher 3," said in an interview with VG24/7. "Because they want a real challenge. If you die five minutes before the ending, it's over. There are actually people who have already done it."

Still, he said that the default difficulty level of the game will be set at "Normal."

"Usually normal is easy, and easy is well, you can be on your phone while playing," he said. "We want it to be easy to learn but hard to master."

He added, "It gets more difficult the more you progress in the game, but also you will learn more and more things. I don't think we actually throw that much different stuff on you at the same time, so you'd have to read about it works pretty naturally."

In addition to the hard difficulty, CD Projekt Red stated that players will not be required to waste countless hours playing the previous titles in order to be brought up to speed on what will take place in the third entry of the gaming series. The game is also expected to have 30 times the environment compared to the previous titles.

Furthermore, each action that the player commits will bring a different scenario to the table in the upcoming quests. According to the developer, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will offer approximately 100 hours of gameplay in order for players to complete the entire game: 50 hours will be allocated for side quests, while the remaining 50 hours will be spent on the main storyline.
