The wait for the third season of "Telltale's The Walking Dead" episodic game will be released in December.

Telltale Games announced on its official website that the first episode from "Telltale's The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" will be released on Monday, Dec. 20.

The upcoming season of "Telltale's The Walking Dead" episodic games will feature the return of fan-favorite character Clementine four years after the events of the game's first season. This time, Clementine will be a teenager who will continue finding a way to survive during the proliferation of the undead. It will also introduce a new character named Javier, who is described as "a young man determined to find the family taken from him."

Players will assume the role of Javier as he looks for his family after they got separated during the gruesome zombie attack. He will encounter Clementine, and they will both realize that their lives are linked together along the way.

According to the press release, "When family is all you have left... how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last."

The first episode will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS, Android, and PC next month, while those who are planning to get all five episodes can purchase a Season Pass disc for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Feb. 7.

The release date announcement also came with a new art for the upcoming season of "Telltale's The Walking Dead" game series.
