Speaking to the New York Comic Con audience last weekend, "The Walking Dead" season 8 main cast member, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, revealed a lot of things that fans should expect in the next chapter of AMC's post-apocalyptic drama thriller. The actor, who became a part of the series in season 7 as the villainous Negan, teased that the archenemy of his character, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), will get his fight back.

It was clear that season 7 was not a good time for Rick and the Alexandrians, as the Saviors showed them how ruthless they could be. However, in the eighth season, Rick is expected to rise from the ashes and exact his revenge on Negan. The previous season finale gave a glimpse of Rick gearing up for a bloody showdown against Negan, and as reported by Entertainment Weekly, Morgan himself confirmed at the New York Comic Con that Rick will "get his strut back."

"Season 7 sucked for Rick Grimes, but season 8, he's definitely getting his strut back," Morgan revealed at the New York Comic Con last Saturday. As Rick is building up a group to crush down Negan and the Saviors, the big bad villain also has some tricks up his sleeves, so viewers can expect bloodshed next season. Morgan said that his character is planning his next strategy for an all-out war with "a few of his special buddies."

To give an idea on what "The Walking Dead" will look like this year, Morgan teased that the upcoming season will be similar to the first four seasons of the series. The outcome of the impending all-out war between Negan and Rick is up in the air, but it is certain that new characters will join the brewing battle in season 8. As per the latest New York Comic Con trailer for "The Walking Dead" season 8, a mysterious character will cross paths with Rick's son, Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Business Insider reported.

The online publication cited that the unnamed character can be heard mentioning words from the Quran in the trailer. It is possible that the mysterious character will be Siddiq, a character from the original comic book. In the comics, Siddiq is an Arab-American character that became Rick's ally later on. Avi Nash is reportedly portraying Siddiq in "The Walking Dead" season 8.

"The Walking Dead" season 8 will premiere on Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
