It's the 4th of July so The Originals season 5 is skipping an episode this week and will return instead next week to the CW with episode 10.

The 10th episode in the final season of the popular vampire show is airing on July 11 after a brief hiatus and it will mark the beginning of the end for the show.

And we can't wait to find out what is going to become of our favorite characters. The fate of Hope is literally hanging in the balance as she is struggling with the rage she feels over the death of Hayley.  The promo for the next episode tease her unleashing her rage on Klaus and tossing him across a room.

But Klaus doesn't seem like he will easily give up on her. Nonetheless, from the released synopsis, he is grieved by how she is embracing the darkness and he gets a grave warning that it might be best to let her go.

He says in the voiceover: 'She's faltering. Doesn't she need us?'

Then Elijah issues a serious warning to Klaus: 'That rage, leading her down a path that will erase her humanity, the consequences will be devastating for everyone. Everyone.'

The synopsis  for the episode, called There in the Disappearing Light, reveals more about the upcoming events and teases that Klaus will try to help Hope 'in an unconventional way.'

It adds: 'Elsewhere, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) takes on the nightwalkers, while Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) deals with the fallout of a fateful decision.'

With Hope spiralling into darkness, there is good reason to believe that a character might be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her. It's already been a show of heartbreaking ups and downs so even though it would be hard to see another character death, it might be the powerful and memorable conclusion to the series that fans are expecting. We'll know for sure when the finale airs in a few weeks.
