'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' release date, news: New 30-minute gameplay video rolls out online

The next main installment for "The Legend of Zelda" franchise is set to be released for the Wii-U and the Nintendo Switch, although the publisher has yet to come out with release details. However, some particulars are already known in the game, including its gameplay mechanics.

A new gameplay video, featuring almost 40 minutes of action, has been published for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." In the footage, the players are from the Japanese variety show "GameCenter DX," and they take a somewhat guided tour of the new title. While some of the gameplay mechanics were already showcased in previous teasers, the new video serves more of an extensive demo for the upcoming franchise installment.

Meanwhile, although the video is only demo gameplay, the footage showcases most of the mechanics and interface for "The Legend of Zelda" Breath of the Wild." It also highlights the optimized graphics for the Wii-U. This is welcome news to fans of the game since the graphics and design for the new game are likely to be similar to the version in the upcoming Nintendo Switch, because of the optimized settings.

Fans have been waiting long for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" for the Wii-U. The new game is the first new installment of the core franchise of "The Legend of Zelda." Its predecessor, "Skyward Sword," was launched back in 2011.
