With so many events happing in "The Last Ship," the team on the hit TV show hints that all will converge in season 3.
In an interview with TV Line, series lead Eric Dane hints that even if the show seems fractured with different events going on at the same time, all will converge at one point, and may even be revealed as connected.
Dane is quoted as saying, "That's what I love about it, that it's so fractured right now. There are three 'A' storylines happening simultaneously. Week by week, we get a little closer to each other, and eventually you have to know that the three storylines will collide."
Dane also teased that those upcoming episodes with the Nathan James will be "explosive ones." The current season has placed the craft in a perilous situation, with the team trying to free Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the other captives.
The lead star hints, "These are very special mines. We find out that the best thing is to not sit still. Sitting still could get you killed just as easily as moving forward and hitting one... We get some help from somebody you wouldn't think would be helpful in that capacity..... Everybody on board chips in." Dane goes on to add that, "... it's honestly the best episode we've produced."
Dane's CNO Tom Chandler has reclaimed command of Nathan James and on his way to Asia, while Mark Moses's President Michener is back home.
Meanwhile, though the series enjoys stable following, there are rumors that this season is already its last. According to Parent Herald, "The Last Ship" was TNT's most watched series when it launched in 2014, with over five million viewers a week. However, with the new season already starting, the show is down to a little over a million weekly viewers. This led to speculations that the show will not be continuing after its third season.
