'The Blacklist' Season 5 Episode 8 Spoilers: Liz to lose Tom for good?

Liz and Tom in NBC's "The Blacklist" NBC

The next episode of "Blacklist" may be tragic again for Liz (Megan Boone) as she might lose someone dear to her, this time for good.

Episode 8 of the fifth season of "The Blacklist" sees Tom (Ryan Eggold) disappearing, prompting Liz to look for him. Liz will have to retrace her husband Tom's steps in order to find him, hopefully before he dies, as the chances of finding him safely are close to none. It can be recalled that Tom's reason for his disappearance was due to his determination in finding the answers to the mystery which the suitcase full of human bones has raised.

Tom, however, will cross paths with someone unexpected, like Red (James Spader), who was also on the hunt for the same suitcase. This could put the two on an inevitable collision course which will have a significant impact on both their lives.

A promo trailer for next episode, titled "Ian Garvey," has also been uploaded. It shows Tom in a fragile state, almost as if he was about to die. Tom is unable to move, bleeding, and bruised, possibly due to his deadly encounter in the previous episode where two hitmen caught him talking to Pete (Karl Miller). It can be recalled that Pete told Tom that he was not responsible for the death of Nik (Piter Marek). Instead, Pete cast the blame on someone else.

The hitmen left Tom barely alive and in dire need of medical assistance in the previous episode. Given the promo's overall tone, it seems that this might be the end for him should his wife, Liz, fail to find him.

Episode 8, "Ian Garvey," is also set to be the show's season finale, where the twist could change the direction of the series altogether. This could come in the form of Tom's death, leaving his children with Liz fatherless, while making Red satisfied since he has been wanting to kill Tom for some time now.

"The Blacklist" season 5, episode 8, "Ian Garvey," airs on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
