"Supergirl" season 3 has entered a nine-week hiatus following its previous episode, and the CW recently released the first promo teaser for the show's much-awaited comeback this April. In episode 14, an important person from Winn Schott's (Jeremy Jordan) past will return, who unfortunately could be bearing a bad news. Of course, the threat of the Worldkillers on Earth is far from over as Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) will now have to fight both Reign (Odette Annable) and Purity (Krys Marshall), who has decided to team up with her long-sister in their quest to conquer the world.
The first trailer for "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 is centered on the Toyman's (Henry Czerny) funeral. According to the latest spoilers for episode 14 titled "Schott Through the Heart," the death of Winn's father will lead to the return of his estranged mother, to be played by "Roseanne" actress, Laurie Metcalf. It appears that the Schott matriarch will come in good tidings, telling his son that she had long hoped to see Winn for a long time, but the Toyman threatened to kill their own son if she ever attempts to go near him.
Still, Winn's mother may also have some bad news with her as the city is still not safe after the death of the Toyman. "Grey Anatomy" star Brooke Smith is tipped to play a mysterious and sinister character that will continue the legacy of the deceased villain.
On the other hand, "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 is expected to feature Kara's measures to stop Reign and Purity, who have officially forged an alliance against the National City. To recap, Kara and her allies tried to subdue Julia Freeman, who was later on revealed to be a Worldkiller named Purity, in hopes that she could help them defeat the current season's big bad. Unfortunately, Purity took Kara's invitation in bad light, believing that the humans have prepared something nasty against her.
It will be much more challenging to take down two all-powerful Worldkillers that would stop at nothing to destroy the human race. Moreover, Reign and Purity are also planning to find the last known Worldkiller on Earth that goes by the name Pestillence. If the trio of Worldkillers is completed, not even Supergirl will be able to save the world.
"Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 will be aired on April 16, 8 p.m. EST, on The CW.
