"Street Fighter 5" is now set to welcome a new version of Ken into its roster.

Long-time fans of the franchise are undoubtedly familiar with the Ken who sports a red gi and fights like Ryu, but that no longer appears to be the case.

According to Polygon, the new version of Ken is intentionally made to be different from Ryu in "Street Fighter 5." The new version of the fighter was debuted during Comic-Con.

On the surface, the most immediate change is in Ken's outfit. He no longer features his trademark red gi, and in its place is a combination black and red, skin-tight fighting outfit. Ken is also without his familiar mop top, as he now features a new ponytail.

Delving a little deeper into the new version of Ken coming to "Street Fighter 5" will reveal that the fighter is also sporting a different set of fighting moves. Instead of using a style largely similar to Ryu's, Ken will now feature a slightly more varied moveset, though he does retain his iconic Shoryuken.

All the changes being made to Ken are part of an overall re-imagining of the character. He will now be more "aggressive" and "in-your-face," according to Capcom, mixing in old and new elements to create a character fans can get excited about.

In related news, classic costumes are also set to be part of "Street Fighter 5," according to EventHubs. According to Capcom's director of Marketing and eSports, Matt Dahlgren, players will reportedly be given the option to use the retro outfits of their characters in "Street Fighter 5."

The new game is expected to follow in the footsteps of "Street Fighter 4" in terms of showcasing more costumes for the characters in the game. Even the newly-revamped Ken will most likely be receiving his retro outfit at some point for "Street Fighter 5," according to Dahlgren.

"Street Fighter 5" is expected to be released in early 2016.
