It is said that Luke Skywalker will have more screen time in the upcoming film "Star Wars: Episode VIII" compared to the prequel, "The Force Awakens."
According to Screen Rant, actor Mark Hamill has hinted that the last Jedi may have a major appearance in the next "Star Wars" episode.
Speaking at the Salt Lake Comic-Con for his role as The Joker in the animated film "Batman: The Killing Joke," Hamill let it slip that "I came home and I realized, 'oh my gosh, they have an interview for me tomorrow afternoon. I haven't watched [The Killing Joke], and the day after I start on a sequence, an elaborate special effects sequence where I'm not going to be able to do anything. I have to focus specifically on the Episode VIII scene I'm doing."
The "elaborate special effects" are also being done in a night scene, leading to speculations that there may be a continuation – this time an actual flashback – for the Knights of Ren scene in "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."
Meanwhile, though production is on-going, not much is known about "Star Wars: Episode VIII." Speculations suggest, however, that one confirmed cast member is Kelly Marie Tran. According to rumors, Tran will play Aya, an information broker and will share a scene with Finn in what is said to be one of the fanciest bars in the "Star Wars" universe. The scene will then lead to a furious chase between Stormtroopers assigned to the First Order and John Boyega's character.
In addition, although the over-all story has yet to surface, it can be expected that main antagonist Kylo Ren will return better and stronger. The Sith knight will need to complete his training to the Dark Side, and will hopefully have a second round with Daisy Ridley's Rey.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated for release in December next year.
