If Sony is sprucing up its future smartphone offerings with a rumored handset codenamed Lavender, then the Japan-based tech firm is doing a fantastic job. Lately, there have been major buzzes about the smartphone's existence, and how it looks like a version of the Xperia C4, but better.
A leaked render image of the alleged Sony handset reveals a design breakthrough as the bezels on the side of the Sony Lavender looks ultra thin, allowing for a wider display and a unique, classy and innovative appearance. But that is just one of the device's many wonders.

This is paired with a rear-facing snapper with the same megapixel count, an IMX214 sensor-laden combo that won't let camera buffs down.
The device is also touted to be much bigger than the Sony Xperia C4, which is saying something. The latter is at 5.5 inches, which makes the Sony Lavender a phablet, potentially one that sizes up to 6 inches of Full HD display (much like the T2 Ultra). Visuals should look immensely gorgeous on this.
What's under the hood, rumors suggest, is the same set of units used on the C4: a Mediatek MT6752 chipset that holds an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. This is paired with 2 GB of memory although there is no word about the Sony Lavender's storage capacity.
It is expected that the handset will run Android Lollipop and that it will come with a dual SIM flavor. There is still no word about the pricing or the release date of the remodeled flagship smartphone as the Sony Lavender is still unconfirmed by its maker.
For now, tech enthusiasts should keep their eyes peeled for more information about the alleged future top-of-the-line handset from the tech firm.
