Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers live stream (CBS): Watch NFL Thursday Night Football 2015 online (Preview)

The Seattle Seahawks will play the San Francisco 49ers on NFL Thursday Night Football tonight in a massive game for both teams. The Seahawks and 49ers enter this game on 2-4 and both cannot afford to lose today's game if they are to maintain hopes of a postseason berth. The game has a scheduled start time of 8.25 p.m. ET and takes place from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game can be watched on TV on the CBS network or online through live stream via the link below.

Nobody expected these two teams to be making themselves comfortable in the basement of the NFC West this season, but after nearly half the season that's where they are.

However, not all is lost yet, and a win today would be invaluable for the victor in chasing down the Arizona Cardinals who have slipped to 4-2 recently. With the St Louis Rams on just 2-3, there is still the opportunity for either of these teams to go on a winning run and compete for the division title.

But the loser of today's Thursday Night Football game will slip to 2-5, which in most people's eyes would be a long way back to try and compete here. Moving to 3-4 would make a massive difference, and so the season could literally be on the line for these teams tonight.

Especially for the Seahawks, there were high expectations for their season this year. The two-time defending NFC champions were expected to go for the conference crown again and make another dash for the Super Bowl. However, at the moment they are sinking, and they must do something right away if they are to keep their hopes alive.

If the Seahawks do lose today there is a real possibility that they will miss the Playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Looking at their season so far, it has been one of pure frustration for Seahawks fans. In each of their games they have played well enough to get into winning positions. They have managed to hold a lead in the fourth quarter of every single game, but have simply let their chances slip by with sloppy football in the final 25 percent of games. That has resulted in four terrible losses, where as the Seahawks teams of recent years would have gotten over the line in each of them and potentially be sitting pretty on 6-0 right now.

Seattle must play well for all four quarters tonight to get themselves back on track. However, the 49ers are just as desperate, and will have home field advantage, so they will be competing and would love to add to the pain of their division rivals.
