Speculations about the upcoming and much-anticipated flagship follow-up by Samsung continue to intensify as the rumored release period for the Galaxy S7 lineup draws near. The latest rumors suggest that Samsung is planning to launch at least three iterations of its new premium flagship.

According to Techno Buffalo, new leaks from tipster Evan Blass mentioned that there will be at least three iterations for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 lineup. In the image that Blass tweeted, the new Samsung flagships are referred to as the Galaxy S7 (considered the base model), the Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge+.

However, there was no mention of a regular-screen Galaxy S7+, which was previously rumored to be one of the upcoming iterations in the lineup.

The industry follower added that the image seems to match Samsung's usual branding announcements, but the rumor remains unconfirmed. However, the detail came from Blass, who is known to provide accurate predictions and leaks.

Meanwhile, GSM Arena also added that the absence of the flat-display Galaxy S7+ might mean that it will not be launched together with the three iterations. According to the report, Samsung might be thinking of releasing the phablet model together with another flagship lineup, the Galaxy Note 6.

According to Android Central, while different iterations of a single lineup isn't exactly new, the rumors saying Samsung will be releasing its Galaxy S7 lineup iterations simultaneously is a big deal, if proven true. The industry observer said that the arrival of a wider range of flagship models means that Samsung will likely corner a significant chunk of this year's smartphone market, particularly if the roll-out of the three Galaxy S7 iterations will be scheduled early in the year.
