The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date is believed to be gunned for early 2015, and the device is expected to boast improved specifications such as aluminum casing and additional sensors.

Reports claim that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors and will make an appearance early next year, most probably at the Mobile World Congress 2015 event, which has been the launching platform of the previous Samsung Galaxy S smartphones.

The rumored smartphone might also become available for purchase in March or April, with a similar pocket-friendly price tag as the Samsung Galaxy S5 with a two-year contract.

As for the features and specifications, latest whispers claim that the handset will have an aluminum exterior as the company will finally cave in to buyers' desire to envelop the S series in metal casing. Moreover, the South Korean tech firm unveiled the Galaxy Alpha with encased in metal material, which sparked the rumors.

Furthermore, Samsung is also rumored to include additional sensors in the handset. The Galaxy S5 packs a fingerprint sensor, and it is believed that its successor will include a retina scanner.

Other rumors say that the handset will pack a slightly larger screen display of 5.2 or 5.3 inches in size with 4K or 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution that will yield to clearer and more vivid pictures.  At the back, many are expecting a camera of at least 20 megapixels. As for the pricing, the rumored handset will cost roughly the same as its predecessor.

It is speculated that the Galaxy S6 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 chipset with 64-bit architecture.  It will also have a co-processor Adreno 430 GPU to support high res images and videos, and will run with the upcoming Android 5.0 L OS, which is expected to arrive in October.

However, nothing is official yet until Samsung announces the details of its smartphone, including Samsung Galaxy S6, and its roadmap.
