It looks like Samsung's Infinite Display feature will no longer be exclusive to the company's high-end devices, as the company's all-screen signature is now expected to roll in the Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphone. According to the latest reports, the updated mid-range handset from Samsung will come close to the design and performance of the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 flagships.

Based on the recent scoop from Android Headlines, a handset with model number SM-A730F just received a certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It is believed that the SM-A730F is actually the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018), and the FCC file revealed that this device is powered by Exynos 7885 processor. Samsung's very own chipset is composed of six Cortex A54 cores joined by two Cortex A73 cores plus a Mali G71 mobile graphics card. The Exynos 7885 setup will be similar to Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 in terms of performance, given that the former is designed under the same 10nm FinFET process used to develop the top-tier mobile chips.

To note, the spotted FCC filing matched the recent GeekBench leak for the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). The leaked benchmark results showed the same model number as the one indicated in the FCC certification, as well as the processor to be used in the handset. Also, the leak revealed that the Galaxy A7 (2018) will receive 6GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, it is widely speculated that the Infinite Display first introduced in Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 will come to the A-series handsets next year. It is expected that the Galaxy A7 (2018) will sport an all-screen front panel with the bezels considerably reduced. Specifically, the A7 (2018) will have a massive 6-inch display with FHD+ resolution of 2160x1080. As expected from the Infinite Display design, the next Galaxy A7 handset is expected to lose the physical buttons and fingerprint reader on the front. Instead, the biometric scanner will be transferred to the back portion, or right below the camera module.

It is also likely that the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) will sport a USB Type-C port and the new Bixby button, which will call Samsung's resident virtual assistant right away. As for the release date, the FCC certification showed that the smartphone will arrive in January or February 2018. With this schedule, the Galaxy A7 (2018) may be launched at the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2018, or at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.
