A new patch for "Rocket League" is expected to address a variety of issues found in the game.

Patch 1.03 for "Rocket League" is said to be coming out some time during this week, although the game's developer, Psyonix Studios, has yet to provide an exact date as to when players can download the new update.

Even without an exact release date, Psyonix has already outlined some of the fixes coming in patch 1.03.

In terms of actual gameplay, the new patch is expected to provide more streamlined AI competition for "Rocket League" players. When players now do battle with AI, their opponents' skill levels will be matched with the average skill level of other "Rocket League" players to create a better playing field.

Patch 1.03 will also lessen, if not eliminate, instances of invisible cars being in the field of play whenever gamers are playing online, according to Gamespot.

Another valuable gameplay fix now addresses the often annoying crashes that have plagued the Steam version of "Rocket League."

Other changes coming via the new patch include the Virtuoso achievement now unlocking properly on Steam. The distances players travel during online games will also be accounted for more accurately with the application of the new update.

In-game elements such as the main menu and the game ticket have also been repaired with patch 1.03.

In related news, Psyonix Studios Head Dave Hagewood revealed that the team behind the game had reservations about making it a free PlayStation Plus game, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

According to Hagewood, it was not until Sony stepped up with a great offer that he and the team decided to move forward with their plans to make it a free game. It's a move that has led to "Rocket League" now being downloaded over four million times since it was released.
