Rockstar Games initially planned to launch the much-awaited sequel, "Red Dead Redemption2," this fall. Unfortunately, due to unspecified circumstances, the Western cowboy-themed shooter video game was delayed to a later date. Following the new trailer released by the game studio this month, there is no confirmed date regarding the game's arrival, although there may be hints that "RDR2" may come sooner.

As reported by Daily Star, there are signs that Rockstar Games may find a way to launch "Red Dead Redemption 2" a bit earlier than 2018. The online publication cited an article from Kotaku that was already deleted, stating that the game would be released in 2017.

After the Kotaku article about the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date went live, fans have flocked together to confirm if the sequel will push through with a Fall 2017 launch, after all. Although, Kotaku's contributing editor confirmed that the article is in fact inaccurate. It is likely that the information used for the said article came from an old press release from Rockstar dating back in summer of 2016.

Nevertheless, speculations still remain about the scheduled release for "Red Dead Redemption 2." Rockstar has not yet revealed major details about the sequel's gameplay, implying that the game is still under development and unlikely to be released anytime soon. It is possible, however, that Rockstar will release a "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered Edition instead, or even a Nintendo Switch version of the classic "Red Dead" title.

In other news, the rumors are rife that the upcoming "Red Dead Redemption 2" will once again feature the previous title's John Marston as the lead character. Fans believe that the early poster for the sequel released by Rockstar provided hints that Marston will keep his main protagonist role. Specifically, the one in the center of seven silhouettes from the poster is none other than Marston, noting the similarities in clothes, facial hair, and body build.

However, it was reported that John Marston will take a step back in "Red Dead Redemption 2," as a new character will be assuming the lead role. It was confirmed that Arthur Morgan will be the new protagonist in the sequel, who will form the Van der Linde gang together with the same characters from the first title.
