Red Dead Redemption 2 release date news: game developer may have just confirmed launch on PC too

We already knew that Red Redemption 2 was releasing to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. But it's possible that the game is coming out on the PC as well.

The original version of the hit game did not get a PC launch. But the reason why there is this speculation now about a PC release for the follow-up to the first title is the resume of a developer who claims they worked on a PS4, Xbox One and PC version of the game.

That much was detailed in the developer's resume on their LinkedIn profile, according to VG247. They claim to have worked for Rockstar for nearly 10 years and say they also worked on L.A. Noire and Grand Theft Auto V.

Concerning Red Redemption 2, they listed 'PS4 / XB1 / PC' although the reference to the PC was later removed, according to GameSpot

As it was later deleted, it's entirely possible that the mention of working on Red Redemption 2 for PC was just an innocent typo. But we are hoping it is a genuine leak.

So far, Rockstar hasn't made any mention of the game coming out on the PC. But the popularity of PC titles on Steam shows it's still a smart move for game developers as there's millions of dollars to be made.

If Rockstar is planning on a PC release, it's possible it will come out later than the launch of the game to consoles, as this was the strategy for Grand Theft Auto V which came out on PC six months after the main launch.

Rockstar didn't reveal any update on Red Dead Redemption 2 at E3 2018, which would have been an obvious opportunity to do so.

The title comes out on October 26 so if a PC release is in the pipeline, it's possible it could come out some time around spring 2019.
