This week marked Razer's first venture into the smartphone industry, as the reputable gaming hardware and systems expert launched the Razer Phone. The newly-unveiled handset is different from the previous premium devices released this year, given its highly incredible specs and graphics features dedicated for video gaming.

As reported by Segment Next, the Razer Phone sports a 5.7-inch screen that includes the "UltraMotion" technology, which sets the device apart from other flagship smartphones available today. "UltraMotion" allows the Razer Phone to run graphics at 120Hz at a screen resolution of up to 1440p. The 120Hz refresh rate of Razer Phone is similar with the current iPad Pro 10.5. Such display feature is important for a gaming gadget, given that it promotes smoother game run and minimizes lag.

Razer officially unboxed their first-ever gaming smartphone on Wednesday, and as per Business Insider, the graphics technology and hardware specs of the Razer Phone are enough to take on the likes of iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, as well as Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices. However, the Razer Phone has stout bezels on the sides, which may not be appealing to some users.

Nevertheless, the Razer Phone is not intended to go with the trend of premium handsets having slimmer bezels for a slicker design. The company emphasized that the Razer Phone targets those consumers who are after high-quality gaming experience right in their mobile devices.

The Razer Phone specs also include 8GB RAM and 64GB expandable memory. For better gaming effect, the smartphone boasts dual front-facing stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos and certified by THX. The Razer Phone also introduces its very own Game Booster app to further optimize the gaming performance at minimum power. The device is packed with 4,000mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset.

The Razer Phone does not disappoint when it comes to standard smartphone features, such as a dual 12MP camera module with one sensor having f/1.8 aperture for wide shot angles and the other with f/2.6 lens. The front-facing camera has an 8MP image sensor with f/2.0 lens.

It was revealed that the Razer Phone will run the Android Nougat 7.1.1 upon delivery, although the Oreo upgrade is expected to arrive by the first quarter of 2018. The Razer Phone can now be ordered for $700, as the first batch of shipments will be out on Nov. 17.
