With each month Playstation Plus members are given free games to download, two per console. The official Playstation Blog has announced which games are being offered for the month of September and it is important to note that subscription has notably been increased.
Playstation 4 users will be able to download the critically acclaimed adventure title "Journey." The game puts players in the shoes of a lone traveler who must traverse through a desolate desert in the hopes of reaching a distant mountaintop.
The game also featured a unique online system wherein other players could appear anonymously to aid the player. It initially launched on the PS3 and as such is also being offered for PS3 Playstation Plus subscribers.
The other game offered for the PS4 is "Lords of the Fallen," a game notably very similar to the "Dark Souls" series due to its focus on third-person action and intense difficulty. Players take on the role of Harkyn, a convicted criminal who seeks redemption but only if he slays demons amidst a war between humans and gods.
On the PS3 are "Datura" and "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands." The prior is a strange video game that takes the hallucinogenic drug namesake to heart and asks players to help the haunted main character to discover why they are lost in the first place.
"Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands" is set in the same timeline as the PS2 trilogy of games and the titular prince is shown fighting against the armies of King Solomon as he reunites with his brother. This game takes place prior to the events of "Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones."
PS Vita subscribers will be able to download the puzzle game "Badland" and the highly praised visual novel game "Amnesia: Memories."
It is noted that the versions of some of these games are their "Game of the Year" edition which means they will contain all of the DLC and updates that have since been released.
