While publisher Atlus has only revealed a general release window for its upcoming role-playing title "Persona 5," it seems that the publisher will be targeting an early release date for the game.

According to Christian Post, Japanese retailer Animate has put up a "Persona 5" advertisement in one of its retail branches. The advertisement is surrounded by different "Persona"-themed merchandise, meaning that the retailer is gearing up for some major work in preparing for the upcoming game.

As it turns out, the advertisement itself still has the "summer 2016" tag for its release date. However, since the retailer is preparing its "Persona 5" marketing this early, an early summer outing for "Persona 5 "may come to pass.

An early summer outing for "Persona 5" is looking to be a plausible one, given that Atlus is also targeting 2016 as the year "where it all comes together." According to Gematsu, a recent issue of Dengeki PlayStation featured an interview with Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka.

Reportedly, Hiraoka stated that 2016 will not only have fans see "Persona 5" released in the market but some of Atlus's other major projects as well.

The Atlus CEO was quoted as saying, "In 2015, we were able to develop existing IP like 'Persona 4: Dancing All Night' and 'Etrian Mystery Dungeon.' In 2016, starting with 'Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir,' we plan to release a large number of titles. In the summer, we'll launch the long-awaited 'Persona 5.' Of course, in addition to that we have several unannounced titles. I have no doubt this will be a year Atlus's popular series all gather together."

When Atlus announced "Persona 5," it had an original release date of "holiday 2015," which led fans to believe a December 2015 release. However, Atlus admitted that delays in the project itself caused some setbacks and, after the improvements that the developer featured in the title, the game will be released this year instead.
