The Straw Hat pirates will be caught in a crossfire in the upcoming chapter of "One Piece" manga. Previously, the Big Mom pirates are determined to capture every Straw Hat member after what the group did in Big Mom's Cake Island. Fortunately, the Straw Hats will find allies in their way out of the island, with Pekoms deciding to turn his back completely on Big Mom. In "One Piece" chapter 898, Pekoms is rumored to complete his SuLong transformation, giving him enormous power to eliminate the Big Mom pirates that are going after the Straw Hats.
According to the fans' plot predictions for "One Piece" chapter 898, Pekoms could have his full SuLong transformation as an act of sacrifice to help the Straw Hat pirates. By this time, it is clear that Pekoms no longer considers himself as a Big Mom pirate, and he is ready to use his power to stop Big Mom's men from capturing the Straw Hats.
The Straw Hat pirates cannot rely on their leader, Monkey D. Luffy, especially that the latter drained his powers after his intense one-on-one fight with Charlotte Katakuri in the Mirror World. Luffy, believing that his teammates can handle the situation from hereon, has decided to take a nice sleep as Sanji becomes in charge of getting the two of them out of Big Mom's clutches. In an interesting turn of events in the previous chapter, the Germa 66 has arrived and declared war on the Big Mom pirates. This gave the Straw Hats an opportunity to prepare for their escape as Big Mom's attention turns to the Vinsmoke clan. The fight between the Germa 66 and Big Mom pirates could take a while, giving Pekoms enough time to fully complete his SuLong transformation.
"One Piece" chapter 898 spoilers hint that Pekoms may have some trouble going back to his old self after his SuLong transformation. If he does not find a way to revert back to his original form, Pekoms could lose his life in the end. Nevertheless, Pekom's rampage after completing the SuLong transformation will still help stall Big Mom's children from capturing Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat pirates.
