Nintendo announced last year that it will be introducing a new gaming system, the NX. However, other than the announcement, the gaming giant has remained silent about the upcoming product.

But some leaks have started cropping up about the Nintendo NX. Allegedly, although the device is targeting home console gamers, it will also have mobile gaming features.

According to Daily Star UK, a Nintendo supplier may have inadvertently revealed a feature of the upcoming gaming system. Originally posted on an online forum, the information came out of a local publication in Taiwan. The original report said that in a recent quarterly results meeting for Macronix International, it was indirectly stated that the upcoming Nintendo NX may have handheld gaming features.

Macronix International's President C.Y. Lu talked about what the company plans to do for this year and beyond. Lu was quoted as saying that Macronix "... will supply memory slots for NX, and that the company has considerable expectation to the NX."

Macronix International has been Nintendo's suppliers for years, primarily for memory slots for the Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS. Daily Star surmised that since the same company will be providing the same components for Nintendo's upcoming gaming system, fans may expect the NX to be a combination of home console and handheld gaming systems.

The Nintendo NX being described as a hybrid platform started to appear last year. After Nintendo announced the NX, rumors started to float online saying that the gaming giant will be bringing gaming to a whole new level with a combination of handheld support on a home console. Leaks of the NX's controllers also appeared online, describing the accessories as being a cross between a standard Wii U controller and a GamePad.
