NBA trade news: Could Dwyane Wade end up in New York, Los Angeles?

As Dwyane Wade seems imminently headed to free agency, multiple teams are expected to go after the versatile guard who has since played in Miami.

Earlier rumors had emphasized how Wade could possibly fit in with the Lakers but now two other teams could also be likely landing spots – the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Knicks are of course checking on all high profile players so Wade is no exception. He could fit into the rebuilding squad and team-up with Carmelo Anthony and other players the Knicks may be luck to land.

His coming to New York could make sense if he is looking for monetary gains and security. But the thing is, will the man known as "The Flash" in the NBA be willing to join a team in the rebuilding process with no promise of a playoff run (at least for the first year)?

Wade carries the vast playoff and championship experience and has three NBA rings to prove it. His experience could be of great value to the Knicks. However, it he is eying another title, the Knicks may not be a wise destination.

Another team expected to dangle Wade an offer are the Los Angeles Clippers. With the Clips, Wade has the better option of satisfying his crave for another NBA title and the monetary side. But at 33, it will be interesting if the Clippers could give him that as well.

The Clippers have a proven championship coach in Doc Rivers and perhaps the best point guard (Chris Paul) and best forward (Blake Griffin) in the NBA today. All that accounts for a championship contender and Wade could seriously be tempted to jump ship.

Of course, Wade's intent to test free agency is no assurance he will bolt the Heat camp. It is a move seen to address his security concerns so it will be interesting if Pat Riley will give in to Wade who has been with the club since his entry in 2003.
