A day before its official announcement, the "NBA 2K17" cover athlete for its standard edition was leaked on the Internet. It is Paul George from the Indiana Pacers.

Scott Burress, aka Extreme Gamer, posted on his Twitter account what he discovered while exploring the PlayStation Store. Burress immediately captured the page and put it up for others to see, which shows three editions of the upcoming "NBA2K17," namely standard, legend, legend gold.

Paul George is considered one of NBA's finest small forwards and an overall great player. Forbes mentioned that George is a solid "NBA 2K" fan and the game's online community knows it as well. George plays the virtual basketball game during downtime from the real one. This may probably be one of the reasons why he was chosen for this year's edition.

"NBA 2K17" is also known to be having a Legend Edition, wherein the cover will contain the recently retired, and one of the greatest players in the league, Kobe Bryant.

"NBA 2K17" standard edition is listed for US$60. The Legend Edition will be available for US$80 and is available for pre-orders via Amazon and will contain several freebies, such as a limited-edition Kobe poster, two Kobe Panini trading cards, a Black Mamba game controller skin, 30,000 virtual currency, My TEAM Bundle that includes three packs, a Kobe hoodie, Kobe #8 Mitchell and Ness Jersey and a Kobe Free Agent card.

The standard edition will be available for the Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, while the Legend Edition will only be for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Fans are expecting an October release for both games.
