NBA 2015 news: Brandon Knight shows glimpses of maturity and leadership

At 23 years old, one would think that a player like Brandon Knight could care less on what disgruntled forward Markieff Morris plans next.

For those who are unaware, Morris has made it known his desire to be traded to another team after his twin brother Marcus was shipped to the Detroit Piston some months back.

Even though the transaction was something that was bound to happen, the point that Morris was perhaps justifying is that he and Marcus gave up so much money just to stay together in Phoenix.

Such a scenario isn't new in the NBA, even if you are twins who went as far as agreeing to a special deal. The fact is that the franchise will make decisions and moves as well, sometimes not amenable and understandable to all. And apparently, Morris is not agreeable to it and now wants to be traded.

Two teams he has expressed interest in joining are the Houston Rockets and the Toronto Raptors.

Among the players who spoke up in connection with the Morris issue was Brandon Knight. Knight just re-signed with the Suns for five-years with a contract worth about $70 million. He barely had the chance to sync in with Morris last season, sidelined on account of an ankle injury.

Nevertheless, all Knight can hope for right now is that Morris finds happiness wherever he may be playing next, although he wasn't discounting the possibility of Morris staying on with the Suns. Knight made the comments via Off the Dribble.

Knight, however, admits that in case Morris's departure is imminent, it is all part of NBA life. It is a business and the main thing he wants right now is for Morris to be happy playing wherever he may end up.

For someone so young, such a perspective does seem commendable. It shows the leadership qualities that Knight has and hopefully such could help guide the Suns to better heights starting this coming season.
