USA Network decided to postpone the airing of its TV series "Mr. Robot" in connection to the shooting of two journalists while they were doing an interview in Virginia. The incident shocked the whole nation due to the graphic nature of the murder, which was recorded on camera by the gunman and later uploaded over social media.

"The previously filmed season finale of 'Mr. Robot' contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia," the network said in a statement. "Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."

The statement released Wednesday, Aug. 26, did not elaborate how the graphic scene in "Mr. Robot" is similar to the Virginia shooting. Reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were gunned down by Vester L. Flanagan II, a former employee of WDBJ-TV. The woman Parker was interviewing during the shooting was also shot in the back but survived the incident.

Police are still investigating the possible reason that led to the bloody shooting. But CNN reported that Flanagan had a rough time at the station when he was still employed there with court documents outlining months of disciplinary actions and even numerous meetings about his behavior and anger issues. The court documents even revealed that the station manager at that time advised him to seek out counseling.

"Mr. Robot", a critically acclaimed TV series follows the life of a "hacktivist" recruited by an underground organization to fight the evils of corporate America. The show has a huge following and considered by many as the summer favorite of 2015.

The show's finale will be aired Wednesday, Sept. 2.
