"Metal Gear Solid 5" will not support preloading.
This was the news recently broken by "Metal Gear Solid" Community Manager Robert Allen Peeler.
Preloading is a simple feature that enables players to download their purchased games prior to them being officially launched, with the idea being that gamers will be able to just pick up and play once the highly anticipated day eventually arrives; so they don't have to sit and wait for the download to be completed.
As personal computer (PC) gamers will know, preloading is a feature commonly found in many games that are released especially on this particular platform; so the fact that "Metal Gear Solid 5" will not be providing support for such is an oddity, according to Gamespot.
Even more mystifying is the fact that Peeler himself cannot say why the game does not support preloading. Peeler has said that he is asking the development team exactly why the preloading feature has curiously been left out of "Metal Gear Solid 5."
It is worth noting that even though the PC version of "Metal Gear Solid 5" will not support preloading, the same will not be the case for the title's console-based ports.
In addition to the news regarding preloading, a change has also been made to the official release date of "Metal Gear Solid 5."
According to Gotta Be Mobile, the release dates for the console versions of the game will still be made available on the same date as before, Sept. 1, but the date for the PC version of the game has been moved up. "Metal Gear Solid 5" was originally meant to be released on Sept. 15, but Konami has since shifted gears and decided to synchronize the dates for all ports of the highly anticipated title.
For fans looking for a deal, those who will be pre-ordering "Metal Gear Solid 5" on Steam will also be receiving "Ground Zeroes."
