In commemoration of N7 Day, the anniversary date of the launch of the first game in the series, Bioware released a brand new trailer for "Mass Effect: Andromeda." This trailer delves more into the lore and setting of the game while giving fans a glimpse of the dangers to come.

The trailer shows the potential main villain: a tall alien that is gray and green in color and is a few feet taller than a human. However, the trailer never showed its face, and the details of its race is still a mystery.

It is also revealed that the main character is referred to as the Pathfinder. Gamers are given the choice of playing one of the two main characters who are siblings, a boy and a girl. While the player controls one Pathfinder, the other character will still be out in the galaxy, going through their own adventures.

Large monstrous aliens are also shown destroying cities and buildings, and it is indicated that the player will need to destroy them before the destruction becomes too much to handle. This will be a first for the franchise as gargantuan enemies have never been dealt with before.

The rest of the trailer also showcases the main party coming across a "gravity well" and discovering that, in this new galaxy, they are the aliens that trespassed someone or something else's territory. Throughout the trailer, there is a sense of dread and danger, and it is speculated that the characters have awoken an ancient evil that might launch its revenge against the humans on Earth.

Bioware confirmed, as per Kotaku, that the video runs in real-time and that all of it is from a direct feed of the gameplay. A more in-depth trailer showcasing gameplay mechanics will be shown during this year's Game Awards.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" releases in Spring 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
