MacBook Pro 2016 release date rumored to follow iPhone 7 reveal, possibly in October

The annual WWDC by Apple has come and gone without the tech giant announcing any new hardware products. Fans expect that new Apple products come out later this year. Speculations suggest that this may be the case, though a staggered release is on schedule. Reportedly, the iPhone 7 will be the focus, with other products such as the MacBook Pro 2016 following suit at least a month after.

Yibada reports that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be highlighting the iPhone 7, and maybe even the Apple Watch 2, at its next launch, possibly by September. Meanwhile, other products like the MacBook Pro 2016 will be revealed at least a month after. This gives Apple ample time to clear out its inventory of old models. In fact, it seems that the company has already started clearing out stocks, as some versions of previous MacBook Pro variants are up on sale with up to $400 off their regular price tags.

In addition, it is said that the new macOS Sierra's full, running version is expected to come out towards the end of the year, which also makes its schedule right on top of the new MacBook Pro's release.

Meanwhile, as for how the new edition will differ from the previous-gen, rumors suggest that the 2016 MacBook Pro will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, though it comes at some compromises. Reportedly, the new Apple laptop will borrow an idea from the iPhone 7 and will launch without the standard, 3.5 mm audio jack. Instead, there will be a Lightning-type connector for the task, combined with USB Type-C connectivity. In addition, the thinner design also comes with a downgrade – since the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to come out with soldered SSD memory, storage upgrades will not be possible for the new edition.
