Apple followers who are eagerly awaiting the release of the MacBook Pro 2015 may have to wait a wee bit longer as a vital part for the said Apple device is still indisposed.
The MacBook Pro 2015 was widely rumored to be possibly coming out by July or August but such did not foresee inevitable delays concerning the Broadwell chips for the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro.
But with no chips around, such may spoil the anticipated coming of the new MacBook Pro. The belief was that the new MacBook Pro could very well debut at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference set for June.
For now, there is no word on when the Broadwell chips would be available. Rumors suggest that it may take up to July or August for them to arrive, though that remains to be seen.
There could be a slight window of hope seeing these chips delivered by earlier than the said July or August date but that is as slim as they come. However if that should happen, it could make it by the WWDC event.
According to reports on the Broadwell chip shipments, shipments of the chips have indeed started but in small amounts. Further, it remains to be seen if chips for the iMac or MacBook are included in those batches.
Given the delays, would Apple resort to refreshing the chip for the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro? Given the timeframe and of course the expectations that Apple endorsers are looking forward to, a sudden change could be risky. Thus, a move is unlikely so the fate of the next MacBook Pro depends largely on the immediate shipments of the said chips.
Aside from the chip issue, another problem which could be the cause is worker reallocation. Apparently Apple suppliers have allocated workers to the Apple Watch and MacBook Pro, re-routed to focus on products high in demand rather than the low ones, the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro 2015 included.
