Liverpool has successfully landed one of their main targets as the club announced the signing of Burnley striker Danny Ings whose contract with the Clarets set to expire this summer.
Ings is the second key addition for manager Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool after former Manchester City midfielder James Milner, whose contract is also expiring this summer, struck a deal with the club last week.
"Liverpool FC are delighted to announce that they have agreed personal terms with Danny Ings and, subject to a medical, the striker will join the club on July 1 after his contract with Burnley has expired," a statement on the official Liverpool website read according to ESPN.
Ings will be playing for England at the European Under-21 Championships this month before joining Liverpool on July 1, ESPN reported.
The 22-year-old had a successful Premier League debut last season despite Burnley's relegation scoring 11 goals in 35 appearances.
According to BBC Sports, Ings joined the Clarets four years ago for £1 million from Bournemouth and had 43 goals in 130 games.
"Burnley Football Club can confirm that Danny Ings has today agreed personal terms with Liverpool Football Club and, subject to a medical, will complete a move to Merseyside on July 1," Burnley posted on their official website according to ESPN.
The statement also read, "Burnley Football Club has rejected an offer made by Liverpool, but will continue to have dialogue with the club in order to reach a resolution over the fee."
BBC Sports reported that if both clubs failed to arrive to an agreement on a fee for Ings, the tribunal will be setting the price since he is under 24 years old.
Milner and Ings are not the only additions for Liverpool as ESPN reported that the club agreed to a deal to sign Hungarian goalkeeper Adam Bogdan from Bolton via free transfer.
