'Limitless' season 2 air date, news: Fans launch petition to renew series

"Limitless" ran for one season, serving as an official sequel to the film that starred Bradley Cooper. However, the series was poorly received, and CBS officially canceled the show. Despite the confirmation that it has been canceled, fans have launched a petition with the hopes of the series getting renewed.

The petition launched on Care2 and as of writing, it is only 200 signatures shy of reaching its 35,000-signature goal. While this may indicate that there is still a wide-spread interest in the show, this is still not a guarantee that CBS would indeed give the series another try.

Showrunner Craig Sweeny also posted on Twitter back in September, further emphasizing that the show was done. In his post, Sweeny stated, "Thanks for watching! We are canceled, no hope for return that I'm aware of," further cementing the fact that the show has been canceled for good.

Sweeny's post further implies that there are absolutely no talks of "Limitless" getting renewed. However, Game N Guide states that there are rumors circulating that the executives at CBS are interested in keeping the show alive but not in the way it is presented now.

The rumors suggest that the network wants to move forward with a "Limitless" television series but only if it fixes everything that the first season suffered from. Unfortunately, this would mean rebooting the series and starting fresh. If the series does move with this plan, then it means no involvement from the original cast and crew, including Craig Sweeny.

CBS has not yet responded to any of these rumors or to the petition launched by fans. As it stands, CBS has stood firm on their decision to cancel the show and have given no indication that a reboot or reshifting of the show's focus may give light to a season 2 renewal sometime in the future.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
