While LG has yet to confirm if the much-rumored G5 flagship will come out early this year, recent supposed sightings indicate that the new flagship will at least be seen at next month's Mobile World Congress, to be held on Feb. 22 to 25 in Barcelona, Spain.

According to Droid-Life, a source sent over images of a supposed prototype for the LG G5. However, it is not indicated if the product in question is indeed the LG G5 since the images show that device in a dummy box, so the markings are not visible. The industry follower, however, said that a closer look at the smartphone in the photos actually bear resemblance to other alleged sightings of the G5 which previously leaked online.

GSM Arena said that if the unit is indeed the flagship iteration, then it can be confirmed that the G5 will launch with a dual-cam setup for its main shooter at the back. While it is not confirmed what the camera's improvements are, rumor has it that it will have 16 MP, while the front selfie camera will be 8 MP.

The industry follower also said that in terms of design, LG will be phasing out the back-mounted buttons found in previous LG G series flagships. In return, there is a round fingerprint scanner found on the back, mounted in a streamlined, all-metal body. The profile of the LG G5 also seems to be a sleeker one, as the South Korea-based tech manufacturer apparently managed to feature a USB Type-C port for connectivity.

Meanwhile, although the tech specs for the LG G5 are yet to be confirmed, speculations say that the new LG iteration will feature a 5.6-inch QHD display, the new Snapdragon 820 processor with at least 3 GB of RAM, and might also come out with Android 6.0 right out of the box.
