Kendrick Lamar new album 2017 release date, rumors: New album's release clarified

The latest studio album release from Kendrick Lamar is titled "Damn." Facebook/kendricklamar

After Kendrick Lamar dropped his fourth studio album "DAMN" during the weekend, fans believe that the rapper and hip-hop artist will release another one just a few days after the new album's release.

Theories about Lamar's other album began after Grammy Award-winning producer Sounwave posted a cryptic post on Twitter, telling his followers: "But what if I told you...that's not the official version.."

He then posted another cryptic image of "The Matrix" character Morpheus, portrayed by Laurence Fishburne. The character is holding one pill in both his hands, one red and one blue, same as the ones he offers to Keanu Reeves' character Neo in the movie.

According to reports, fans have connected the clues from the producer's series of tweets to Lamar's song "The Heart Part 4" from his new album, which states, "My next album, the whole industry on a ice pack," as well as "with TOC, you see the flames."

The reports mention that "TOC" could mean "the other color." Since the cover of "Damn" is primarily red, the next album will have a blue cover image.

However, Sounwave was fast to clarify the confusion through another tweet. The music producer mentions that the "unofficial version" that he was talking about was the earlier released leaked version of the song titled "Blood," which came one day earlier than the rest of the album on iTunes. He also said that the leaked version lacks several interludes and some vocal pieces.

While the release of a new Kendrick Lamar album had been refuted, fans can still enjoy listening to the rapper's latest songs in his new album. Aside from "Blood," they could also listen to other tracks like "DNA," "Element," "Yah," "Feel," "Love," "XXX," "Pride," "Humble," "Lust," "God," "Duckworth," as well as "Loyalty" featuring Rihanna, among others.

"Damn" is currently available on iTunes and Spotify.
