Michael (Brett Dier) was shot in the chest and is currently in a coma, and although it seems that he is in critical condition, he will be returning alive and well next season. Meanwhile, Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) new love interest in season 3 is finally revealed.

Previously in "Jane the Virgin," Michael was shot by Rose (Bridget Regan) on his wedding night with Jane and he never made it their honeymoon. In the season promo, Michael is still in a coma and Jane is just hoping that he wakes up soon because their story has only begun.

Although no official news have been released, a few posts on social media points toward the direction of Michael being alive and well in "Jane the Virgin" season 3. Rodriguez recently posted a photo on Instagram of her and Dier, who is speculated to be attending a table reading and shooting a few scenes for the upcoming season.

Could it be possible that Michael will live through his injury and return to his paused marriage with Jane? Or was he simply on set because of the flashbacks that season 3 has in store for Michael and Jane's relationship?

While reports confirm that Jane will definitely lose her virginity next season, it is still uncertain to whom she will surrender her v-card to. The possibility of doing the deed with Michael and Rafael is open, but another man is coming into her life, or rather coming back, and is also a candidate for Jane to get it on with.

TV Line reports that Sam — to be played by Miles Gaston Villanueva from "Young and the Restless" — was Jane's old crush way before Michael and Rafael were in the picture. With Sam's return, Jane might just be tempted to play with fire while her marriage with Michael is on an indefinite pause.

"Jane The Virgin" season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
