Reconciliation is in the books for Liv (Rose McIver) and Major (Robert Buckley) when the CW series "iZombie" returns for its second season.

Producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright told Hollywood Life that even after the ugly break up in the last installment's finale, the two will patch things up and start anew as the best zombie couple in town. She said, however, that the reunion will not come quickly, as Major has to deal with a lot of changes in his life.

"I really think that there is potential for them. We're not the type to just jerk people around. If they end, they end and then they get back together, it'll be for a good reason. There's hope, definitely," said the producer.

Last season, Liv had no choice but to turn Major into a zombie after Blaine (David Anders) stabbed him in the gut. She really believed then that it was the only way for him to stay alive. Major, however, was not happy about his situation.

Ruggiero-Wright revealed that in the beginning, he will still be extremely pissed at Liv, blaming her for "upending" his life completely. She said, "He has all this stuff on himself that he feels she could have alleviated him of, and that's not an easy thing to get over. He still has a legitimate gripe, and it's going to take a little bit for him to get past it, rightfully, so we're going to be honest about it."

Entertainment Weekly also revealed that another reason why the Liv–Major reconciliation will take a while is that Major will have to deal first with his Utopium addiction. This is reportedly a side effect of his recovery after becoming a zombie. As a result, he will not be himself for a while and unable to do anything, much less pursue Liv.

Meanwhile, executive producer Rob Thomas told TV Line that with Liv and Major now both zombies, they are planning to explore different possibilities on how to spice up their romance.

"iZombie" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 6 on The CW.
