Apple's latest flagship handset, iPhone X, has just come fresh from the oven, but rumors about the next-generation device have begun to surface. According to the latest reports, the Cupertino-based tech giant will launch new iPhone models in 2018, with one of those being the incredibly massive iPhone X Plus.
As reported by MacRumors, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will be releasing three new iPhone variants next year. It appears that Apple will stick with the iPhone X's defining features, as these 2018 iPhone models are expected to sport the same edge-to-edge display setup with the infamous notch on top.
Kuo thinks that Apple will introduce an even larger iPhone X variant, which is none other than the iPhone X Plus itself. This iPhone model will have a stunning 6.5-inch OLED display with a pixel density of 480 to 500 pixels per inch. Aside from the extra widescreen space, the iPhone X Plus will boast a bit of improvement from the iPhone X's screen resolution.
Aside from the gargantuan iPhone X Plus, there will be another iPhone model that is also larger than the current iPhone X. The device will have a 5.8-inch display with a density of 458 pixels per inch, which is almost the same pixels resolution as the iPhone X display. Kuo also believes that Apple will launch a more budget-friendly iPhone with less than $1,000 price tag. This handset is expected to be the iPhone 8 successor.
Apple has not yet mentioned any plans for a larger iPhone X, although a visual artist went on to post his own take of the smartphone. The visualized render shows the iPhone X Plus having a 6.7-inch display, which is a few ticks away from the Kuo's speculated plus-sized variant. The artist who created the iPhone X Plus concept image based the increased proportions of his iPhone X Plus on the same ratio Apple used for the iPhone 8 Plus. It should be noted Apple may opt to change the ratio in increasing the screen size of the iPhone X, if ever the iPhone X Plus becomes a reality.
