iPad Air 3 release date, specs rumors: No 3D Touch?

The iPad Air 2. Rumor has it that although Apple will not integrate 3D Touch tech on the iPad Air 3, the successor to the iPad Air lineup will still have major improvements. Apple

Previous rumors have said that Apple was supposed to launch the iPad Air 3 last year but had to postpone at the last moment for the iPad Pro. With this, fans are expecting that the Cupertino-based company will be going forward with the next iPad Air iteration this year.

Meanwhile, although Apple has yet to come out with details about the iPad Air 3, speculations on the upcoming tablet have already floated online, particularly with its specs.

It is predicted that while Apple is slowly pushing through with the integration of its 3D Touch onto all its lineups, the iPad Air 3 will launch without this feature. Reports have surfaced that there were production factors that made it impossible for the first batches of the upcoming iPad Air 3 to have 3D Touch displays.

However, although the feature may not be included in the flagship, fans still expect the iPad Air 3 to have optimized and improved features over the previous versions of the lineup.

According to The Bit Bag, one major improvement of the new iPad will be its display. Reportedly, while maintaining the same 9.7-inch screen size, the iPad Air 3 will have a 4K display with at least 2334 x 3112 resolution, a massive upgrade from its predecessor's 1536 x 2048 one.

In addition, since the iPad Air 3 is expected to ship out with iOS 9 right out of the box, the new tablet will also enjoy new features from the current platform version, including Apple Pay.

Meanwhile, Apple Insider predicts that the iPad Air 3 will adopt some features from the new iPad offering, making it a slightly toned-down version of the iPad Pro. For this, the new iPad Air 3 is assumed to have next-gen internals, including an A9X processor, at least 3 GB of RAM, and USB 3.0-capable Lightning port.
