iOS 8.2 release date in March: Beta 5 now available for download

The fifth beta version of iOS 8.2 is available for download, bringing changes to the unofficial version of Apple's operating system. The official version is speculated to be released in March.

One of the latest updates in the beta version is in relation to the WatchKit, which enables developers to produce apps for the first wearable of the company, the Apple Watch. The feature was released in the first beta and the company has been perfecting it ever since. Apple has greatly improved some of the tools for developers to input their apps in the device. In addition, developers are able to create their own Settings bundles for the extensions they write for WatchKit.

Meanwhile, the iOS beta addresses some of the persistent issues in the previous beta like Wi-Fi calling on T-Mobile. Although the feature is not finalized yet, this enables users to call under certain conditions.

According to Master Herald, the codes hint that this is not the final beta version of the iOS 8.2. But with the alleged roll out of the OS in March, there could be room for one more beta update.

The iOS 8.2 roll out will most likely happen prior to the shipments of the Apple Watch in April, which Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly confirmed during the quarterly earnings call with investors.

"The creativity and software innovation going on around Apple Watch is incredibly exciting," Cook said, as quoted by Engadget. "We cant wait for our customers to experience them when Apple Watch becomes available."

The Apple Watch was announced in September, and is said to have a base price tag of $349.

iOS 8 is Apple's operating system that brings back x.2 update. The last time that Apple released an x.2 update was with iOS 4.

Nothing is concrete until Apple announces the details of the official iOS 8.2 update and the Apple Watch.
